I just ate at McDonald's.

10,000 kilometers and thousands spent, and this is where I picked.  Its not even cheaper here.  I just couldn't bear the thought of another Turkish meal today.  I'm homesick, and just spent the last 4 hours memorizing vocab so I just ran totally out of all motivation.

And I still have more class.  So today is going to be full of random observations.  First...there are random donkeys.  Yes, I did say donkeys.  I was walking from Acor (building with free internet so I don't have to use my expensive, pay as you go, internet) and there was a mom tied out in a lot.  It only just barely did not make the qualifications for a dirt lot, so I'm really not sure what she was eating, but her baby was just wandering around, untied with her.  This was very near a burned out car.  I guess here they'll steal your car, but leave your ass alone.  :)

On my way into another building, another guy was riding a donkey and using a school ruler to wack its behind.  His commuter car runs on grass.  Very green, that man is.

Have I talked much about the roads out here?  There are no cross walks.  They only have over the street walkways.  But, those are very few, and so people just jay walk all the time.  I play frogger every day, and I was terrified to start with.  I watch these guys walk out in front of on coming traffic all the time, holding their hands out like they are Magnito from X men and they can magically stop any thing metal with their mind.  The cars do, however, stop every time.  I don't have the force with me, but I still make it across streets pretty quick.

No one here wears seat belts.  They re-do all the seats of the taxis in pleather, and they don't bother making spots for the seat belts.   It really bothered me at first, but I don't notice any more.

Walking the streets, even after dark, is really not that bad either.  I don't know that I'd do it alone, but I seem to be fine when I go on my nightly walk with my friend and her aunt.

The only real highlight of the last couple rough days has been I got to use my massage therapy knowledge.  This info has just been doing nothing since I hurt my back and I quit.  Yesterday, my friend's grandmother got to benefit from it.  She's been so miserable that she's not slept in a couple of days, and just cried and cried.  So I worked on her, and when I left, she could move, and she was smiling.  All of her family was so grateful.  My friend's aunt had fractured both of her ankles several months ago, and now she has to walk with a walker and her joints are almost frozen.  I worked on them too, and she was able to flex her ankles before I left.

When you're bummed, it always helps to do something for someone else.  Now I get to go back to that same house for dinner.  I just got a second invite somewhere else, and I will do that tomorrow.  So continues my lack of a need to make dinner for myself.  It's fish tonight.  Samick.
